Fans gave sungura musician Tatenda Proud Kahwa, known as Tatenda Pinjisi (Spanner Boy), a massive farewell yesterday in Mutoko. The 34-year-old died from injuries after a crash near Norton Tollgate Friday, while traveling to perform in Kadoma. Two band members also died, along with a female passenger. Many people traveled to Kahwa Village to honor how he represented Mutoko through his music talent.
Mourners included music promoter Partson Chimbodza, philanthropist Wanisayi Mutandwa, King David, Tendai Dembo, Pastor Charles Charamba, Mupositori Muchetu, Ammi Jamanda, Percy Masendeke, Chikomana Shaddy, Biggers Wakapihwa, and Wabvuwi. Family spokesman Howard Pinjisi thanked everyone for their support. Chimbodza, who mentored Pinjisi, said promoters donated two animals and 100kg of corn meal to help grieving families.
