Myanmar education chiefs flew to Brunei for a major school summit last week. Dr Zaw Myint from the Education Ministry headed the team. Dr Kyaw Tun Naing from Yangon University of Economics joined him. The pair represented Myanmar at the 53rd Southeast Asian education conference. School leaders from across the region gathered for three days of talks.
The Myanmar team made a special trip to check out a local university first. They toured Universiti Teknologi Brunei on June 30th. The visitors walked through the campus library and saw high-tech research labs. They looked at classrooms and student housing areas. The delegation wanted to see how Brunei runs its higher education system.
Official meetings kicked off July 1st at The Empire Brunei hotel. The Myanmar representatives sat down for closed-door sessions with other education ministers.
