Mzimba–SA Bus Route Exposed for Using Fake Travel Documents

Buses running between Mzimba and South Africa use fake papers to cross the border. Malawi24 found this out after investigating a crash that killed several people. Many buses travel without real permits, which raises questions about passenger safety. Road officials help bus companies create false documents that look real but lack proper checks.

Someone working at the road traffic department told reporters these problems go deep. Officials knowingly help bus owners break rules, putting lives at risk. Most buses also carry fake insurance papers, which means passengers have no real protection if accidents happen. Some insurance companies might help create these fake papers, too.

Transport safety groups want the government to check all bus documents immediately. Officials from both the road department and insurance groups refused to comment. The government claims it works hard on road safety improvement. People demand better checking systems, digital tracking, and complete insurance verification.
