NAAZ overhauls coaching with German, Mauritian experts

The National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe accelerates coaching development through comprehensive training programs during August. Officials will participate in Technical Officials Education and Certification System courses designed to enhance athletic administration skills. Mutare hosts the first session from August 18 through August 20, where Enias Nhoro will train 40 participants at Hillcrest. Manuel Mpofu, serving as Competitions Director, emphasizes the association's commitment to developing both athletes and administrative personnel. The organization seeks expertise from international specialists to elevate training standards.

Level one certification courses will operate simultaneously in Mutare and Bulawayo locations. German coach Gunter Lange and Mauritian specialist Jol Severe will conduct advanced workshops following the initial training sessions. These educational initiatives follow Zimbabwe's successful hosting of the Southern Africa Senior Championships last month. The association continues building capacity across multiple athletic disciplines. Five Zimbabwean competitors have secured positions for the World Championships scheduled for September in Tokyo, Japan.
