NAFDAC hunts midnight palm oil poisoners

NAFDAC condemned the addition of Azodie to palm oil by marketers aiming to enhance color. The agency labeled the practice dangerous and a threat to public health. In Minna, North Central Zonal Director Kenneth Azikwe said traders add Azodie at night to make the oil appear redder, exposing consumers to risk. He warned that NAFDAC will sanction any offenders and reaffirmed its commitment to food safety and quality. Azikwe highlighted regulatory tools such as NAPALMS, RETURATION PORTER, and the NATIONAL SINGLE TRADE WINDOW for service access and feedback, and asked the Niger State Government to provide land for a permanent NAFDAC office complex.
