Nana Opoku Agyemang Back to Work After Scare

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang came back to Ghana after getting medical help overseas. She spent many weeks receiving treatment at hospitals across the United Kingdom. Doctors there helped her recover from health problems that started back during March. Her condition worried many people across the country when news first broke. Medical experts decided she needed special care only available outside Ghana.

The Vice President became sick on March 28 and went to the University of Ghana Medical Centre the next day. Doctors at the local hospital gave her emergency treatment before sending her abroad. President Mahama told people at a political rally that she had gotten completely better. He spoke to crowds during his tour around Dodowa and shared the good news. The President said he talked with her and confirmed she would return home soon.

Opoku-Agyemang started working as Vice President just four months ago under the new government. People from different political parties felt happy about her recovery and return. She plans to start doing her official work again within the next few days. Her health scare had created concerns about government leadership during her absence. Citizens across Ghana welcomed the news that their Vice President was healthy again.
