Nandom MCE leads major cleanup ahead of Kakube Festival

Municipal authorities in Nandom coordinated a sanitation initiative on Saturday involving personnel from fire services, immigration, police, disaster management, health insurance, and waste collection entities alongside nursing students and community volunteers. The operation addressed markets, transportation hubs, and drainage systems as part of monthly environmental campaigns across Ghanaian administrative districts.

Anthony Ziniel, the municipal chief executive, encouraged daily hygiene practices beyond scheduled events and requested that merchants and transport workers maintain their immediate surroundings. He emphasized that wellness and economic activity benefit from sustained cleanliness efforts requiring shared responsibility.

Ziniel announced that preparations for the Kakube Festival will begin on Saturday, November 29, with visitor arrivals and another cleanup, followed by ceremonial gatherings featuring traditional leaders on Sunday, November 30, and cultural exhibitions concluding on Monday, December 1. He highlighted opportunities for cultural promotion and regional tourism during the celebration while urging peaceful observance among residents.
