A worker named Linus Nasimiyu won a fight against her employer, Mbale City. She worked as the head of schools there. The city leaders had told her to stop working in December because they thought she had done something wrong.
The leaders said Nasimiyu let her driver use a work car after office hours without asking permission. The car later crashed. The city then tried to find someone new for her job by putting out job notices.
Nasimiyu felt this was unfair. She went to a special office called Equal Opportunities Uganda to help her. This office told the city to stop looking for new people until they finished dealing with Nasimiyu's case.
The city didn't like this answer and went to a bigger court. The judge, Mr. Lubega, agreed with Nasimiyu last Friday. He said the city must pay her money and stop trying to replace her until March. The city and Nasimiyu's lawyers will talk about how much money she should receive.
Mr. Kutosi, who speaks for the city, said they accept what the judge decided. He asked Nasimiyu to forgive them and said she could come back to work in March. When people tried to ask Nasimiyu what she thought about this, they couldn't reach her because her phone was turned off.
