Prof Muhammad Yunus, serving as Chief Adviser, stated that the state will provide for the family of Sharif Osman Hadi. Hadi was a spokesman for Inqilab Moncho who died after treatment in Singapore. Yunus addressed the public directly, offering condolences to Hadi's relatives and associates.
Hadi, a figure in the July Uprising, was shot on Box Culvert Road in Dhaka's Paltan area. He received a head wound from the attack. Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital operated on him before his move to Evercare Hospital. He was later airlifted to Singapore General Hospital for further care.
He had also been planning to run as an independent candidate in Dhaka-8 during the next parliamentary polls.
