Sports fans can celebrate the Annual National Sports Awards' comeback after five years away from the spotlight. Mark your calendars for March 30, when athletes gather at Cresta Lodge in Msasa to celebrate under the theme "Setting the gold standard." The organizers have added fresh ideas to make these awards truly world-class.
They've created a brand new People's Choice category where fans can vote online for their favorite stars. The lineup features 15 amazing athletes from 12 different sports, including cricket star Sikandar Raza, basketball player Vitalis Chikoko from France, swimmer Paige Van Der Westhuizen, and tennis ace Sasha Chimedza.
More big names compete for your votes, including runner Tapiwanashe Makarawu, rugby player Tapiwa Mafura, tennis pro-Benjamin Lock, and cricket talent Kellis Ndlovu. The list continues with marathon runner Isaac Mpofu, golfer Scott Vincent, netball champion Felistus Kwangwa, soccer player Khama Billiat, MMA fighter Temba Gorimbo, strongman Chido Maenzanise, and boxer Kudakwashe Chiwandire.
The main ceremony features ten award categories recognizing junior athletes, athletes with disabilities, top sportsmen and women, professional boxers, coaches, officials, and outstanding teams. Media professionals also receive recognition through three special categories - Print Sports Journalist, Electronic Sports Journalist, and Sports Media House of the Year.
