NCP leader demands resignation of health advisor Nurjahan Begum over nepotism in Chandpur

Hasnat Abdullah from Bangladesh National Citizens Party called for Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum to step down during a Wednesday rally in Chandpur district. He accused her of gaining the position through favoritism from Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus. Abdullah claimed Begum lacks medical expertise and serves as an example of government nepotism. The NCP leader stated she received her role through connections to Grameen Bank rather than qualifications. He demanded she return all compensation and resign immediately.

The criticism followed Monday's aircraft accident in Dhaka that resulted in 32 deaths and over 165 injuries. Former student leaders who previously supported Yunus against Sheikh Hasina's government have begun opposing the interim administration. Protesters gathered at the crash site and government buildings demanding multiple official resignations. Students challenged the accuracy of government information about the incident. They requested correct victim identification lists and family compensation details.
