NCP to field candidates in all 300 constituencies

The National Citizen Party plans to run candidates across all 300 constituencies when Bangladesh holds its next parliamentary vote, with party Convener Nahid Islam declaring he will seek a seat representing Dhaka. Islam shared the campaign strategy during a briefing at party headquarters in the capital's Banglamotor area on Sunday afternoon, stating that officials may reveal their full candidate roster before December arrives.

Islam accused unnamed groups of attempting to undermine the electoral process while claiming rival political organizations are creating openings for the Awami League to take advantage of current circumstances. The party leader warned that forces resisting governmental changes will eventually vanish from the political landscape. Addressing foreign relations, Islam said ties between Bangladesh and India will stay tense until New Delhi shifts its position regarding the popular uprising that occurred in Bangladesh.

The convener criticized the July Charter, describing the document's signing as the start of national division. He alleged that parties endorsed the agreement without proper examination, thereby misleading citizens. Islam suggested that opportunities remain available for restoring national cohesion despite earlier missteps.
