NCP's Nahid Islam declares war on any new Bangladesh godfather

National Citizen Party convener Nahid Islam declared that Bangladesh would prevent any new authoritarian figures from gaining control. He addressed supporters at Shaheed Daulat Maidan following a march through Cox's Bazar district. Islam stated that the previous administration had transformed Cox's Bazar into a haven for criminals and drug trafficking. He compared the situation to Narayanganj's former power structure under Sheikh Hasina's government. The speaker emphasized that this system of local strongmen had been eliminated permanently.

Islam demanded that the interim government announce the July Charter before the month's conclusion. He criticized the Awami League for exploiting Cox's Bazar through destructive tourism policies. The party leader advocated for environmentally sustainable tourism that protects local residents' interests. Islam acknowledged sympathy for displaced Rohingya populations while arguing that Bangladesh cannot bear indefinite responsibility for their welfare. He called for international cooperation to facilitate their safe return to Myanmar and ensure Cox's Bazar residents' security remains intact.
