Ndimande brothers' trial delayed after secret move to supermax

Prison bosses ghosted the legal team while secretly shipping high-profile hitmen to a fortress. Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande failed to appear physically at the Durban Magistrates Court because authorities suddenly transferred them from Westville to the hardcore eBongweni Super Maximum Correctional Centre. This surprise relocation forced a massive delay in the trial regarding the assassination of rapper Kiernan AKA Forbes and chef Tebello Tibz Motsoane.

Advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa complained that consulting his clients becomes impossible when they sit in Kokstad. The defense demanded that the state return the siblings to Durban to prepare for the next hearing scheduled for March. Both suspects appeared via video link alongside alleged criminal mastermind Vusumusi Cat Matlala, who apparently resides in the same secure facility.

State prosecutor Alvis Gcweka admitted he lacked official reasons for the sudden transfer. However, insiders claim intelligence officers intercepted plans suggesting the brothers intended to escape during transit. Officials seemingly panicked about a funded jailbreak attempt and decided to lock them down, where fleeing remains virtually impossible.

These two allegedly acted as trigger men before fleeing to Eswatini to avoid capture. They fought extradition for months, citing safety fears, but eventually surrendered to South African police in November. Meanwhile, five other co-accused individuals sit behind bars waiting until June for their pre-trial hearing at the Durban High Court.
