Profeeds plans to add one million dollars to its existing eleven million dollar investment at the Bulawayo manufacturing facility. Finance director Rumbidzo Ndewere announced this expansion during Industry and Commerce Minister Nqobizitha Ndlovu's plant inspection yesterday. The additional funds will enhance distribution warehousing capacity by October. Advanced automation technology enables the facility to operate continuously across three shifts with 150 employees. Monthly production reaches between 6,500 and 6,700 metric tonnes at ninety percent capacity utilization.
The regional manufacturing shift reduced production costs by forty percent compared to previous Harare-based operations. Distribution expenses within Matabeleland decreased substantially due to shortened delivery routes. The plant manufactures feed for multiple animal species while supporting local economic development. Minister Ndlovu praised the investment as exemplifying the Second Republic's industrialization objectives. Market competition intensified as Profeeds' entry drove down regional stock feed prices significantly.
