NEEF offices reopen, loans still on hold

The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited reopened its offices on October 29, 2025, but loan disbursements remain on hold. The organization stated that it is reviewing and refining its lending procedures to better align them with its policies and strategic objectives.

While new loans are not being issued, NEEF confirmed that loan repayments must continue as scheduled. Branches are open to accept payments, and staff will follow up with borrowers who have overdue or upcoming installments. The fund emphasized that all payments are accurately recorded and receipts are provided to maintain transparency.

NEEF also denied rumors that borrowers would not have to repay their loans, calling such claims false. It warned that failure to repay could result in legal action and impact future loan eligibility. The organization further condemned threats or violence against its staff or property and said such incidents would be reported to the Malawi Police Service.
