Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound gets a big ticket to the Oscars

Actress Ananya Panday congratulated director Neeraj Ghaywan after his film Homebound earned selection as India's representative for the 98th Academy Awards Best International Feature Film category. Panday shared Dharma Productions' announcement poster through her Instagram stories and praised Ghaywan's filmmaking abilities. Producer Karan Johar revealed the Oscar selection news on Friday for the Dharma Productions project.

The narrative centers on two childhood companions from a northern Indian village who pursue careers in law enforcement, seeking respect within their community. Their friendship faces challenges as professional pressures mount during their journey toward achieving their goals. Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa portray the main characters in this drama.

Homebound debuted at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section and received a nine-minute standing ovation from audiences. Panday currently prepares for two upcoming releases with actors Lakshya Lalwani and Kartik Aaryan, respectively.
