Netflix will produce a live-action television adaptation of the popular video game franchise Assassin's Creed. Ubisoft announced that the project represents the first series created under their 2020 partnership agreement with the streaming platform. The program will chronicle characters who become entangled in a centuries-spanning conflict between opposing groups fighting for control over humanity's destiny. Emmy-nominated writers Roberto Patino and David Wiener will serve as the show's creators and executive producers.

The series will delve into the ancient conflict between the Assassins and the Templars across various historical periods. Patino worked on previous projects such as DMZ and Westworld, while Wiener contributed to Halo and Homecoming. The creators expressed enthusiasm about adapting the franchise's complex themes of identity and human connection. Their vision emphasizes the universal struggles that define the gaming series.
