New Ambassador Hotel reopens after $500K facelift

The New Ambassador Hotel in central Harare has reopened after a comprehensive renovation costing half a million dollars. Its parent company, the Rainbow Tourism Group, stated that the project modernized all 72 guest rooms and bathrooms, incorporating sustainable features like energy-saving lighting and water-conservation systems.

RTG Chief Executive Tendai Madziwanyika explained that the refurbishment aligns with a broader growth strategy for the group. This hotel upgrade is part of a larger five-year capital investment program totaling 26 million dollars, which also included improvements to other RTG properties in Harare and Victoria Falls.

The hotel group has also launched a festive season promotion called Fun Under the Rainbow, offering special rates across its portfolio. The promotion runs from late 2025 to mid-January 2026, providing various accommodation packages for travelers.
