Nigeria Cops Get Seven Armoured Beasts

Nigeria's government has given seven armored vehicles to police forces for combating crime. Minister Ibrahim Gaidam presented the tactical vehicles to Inspector General Olukayode Egbetokun at the ministry building. The 2024 budget covered the cost of these Modified Light Tactical Armoured Vehicles in full. Police officials can utilize them to protect both officers and citizens during high-risk situations. Government leaders want police departments to have better equipment for security work.

The vehicles contain Nigerian-made parts that mechanics can easily repair. The local design helps the armored trucks perform better in hot weather and on rough roads. Imported security vehicles often break down because they are unable to withstand the Nigerian climate. Maintenance costs are lower when spare parts are sourced from domestic suppliers. President Tinubu's administration promises to continue supporting police operations across the country.

Permanent Secretary Anuma Ogbonaya Nlia said the vehicles represent the government's commitment to modern policing. These tactical trucks will enable officers to respond effectively to evolving criminal threats nationwide. Police forces require advanced equipment to match the sophisticated weaponry used by criminal organizations. The armored vehicles protect officers from gunfire during raids and patrol duties. Inspector General Egbetokun thanked the minister for providing critical assets when police need them most.
