Nigeria First policy fuels Africa Energy Summit in Port Harcourt

Port Harcourt will serve as the venue for the 9th Africa Energy Summit, an event that has gained endorsement from Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, who encouraged domestic petroleum enterprises to capitalize on President Bola Tinubu's Nigeria First Policy. Solomon Ewanehi, head of Solewant Group and organizer of the continental gathering, met with Akume to discuss preparations for the conference centered on emerging technologies and sustainable energy development across the continent.

The policy mandates government agencies to prioritize purchases from local suppliers, with exceptions granted only for items genuinely unavailable domestically. Ewanehi's firm operates an industrial facility at Alode-Onne featuring pipeline coating capabilities and steel pipe manufacturing operations. The summit will spotlight artificial intelligence, robotics, automation and digital innovations transforming the energy sector while facilitating partnerships for infrastructure and renewable ventures.
