Nigerian Pilgrims Barely Escape Hotel Fire in Makkah

A fire broke out at a hotel housing Nigerian pilgrims during Hajj ceremonies Saturday. The National Hajj Commission confirmed the incident happened around noon at Imaratus Sanan hotel on Shari Mansur Street. About 484 Nigerian worshippers from six private tour companies stayed at the Makkah facility. Nobody died and all pilgrims safely reached Mina valley for their religious duties. Saudi emergency teams and hotel workers quickly stopped the flames from spreading throughout the building.

NAHCON Assistant Director Fatima Sanda Usara released details about the hotel emergency. Chairman Professor Abdullahi Saleh rushed to inspect the damaged building with other commission officials. The fire affected multiple rooms where Nigerian Muslims were staying during their holy pilgrimage. Saudi authorities responded fast to prevent injuries and control the dangerous situation. Hotel management worked alongside firefighters to evacuate guests and protect the structure.

Commission leaders ordered immediate moves for all affected pilgrims to new rooms. Chairman Saleh promised the organization would help tour operators assist fire victims with replacement items. The 484 Nigerian Muslims continued their Hajj rituals without major disruption despite the hotel emergency. Private tour companies coordinated with NAHCON officials to arrange alternative housing quickly. All pilgrims received proper care and support after the frightening incident at their temporary accommodation.
