Nine South Sudanese held in Nabweru maid murder probe

Police in Nabweru grabbed nine South Sudanese people after their househelp turned up dead with nasty head wounds inside a residence in Wakiso district. A clinical officer got called to treat the maid, but she was already gone when the medic showed up, and her body vanished before cops could secure the scene despite bloodstains scattered around the property.

Local officials camped outside overnight after residents refused entry and spent hours blocking access, even after identifying themselves. Neighbors said the house stayed pretty isolated with random cars rolling through constantly, and the nurse who responded to the emergency call got offered cash to stay quiet about what she saw. Some occupants apparently bailed before authorities arrived while hauling briefcases and plastic bags that might have contained the missing remains.
