Nintendo Switch 2 backlash as Xenoblade Chronicles fans rage over weak upgrades

Nintendo Switch 2 makes Xenoblade Chronicles games run better but gamers still want more improvements. The backward compatibility helps these role-playing games perform smoother on the new console. Nintendo World Report tested all the games to see how they handle the upgraded hardware. The results show mixed success across different entries in the popular series.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition performs best on the new system. The game hits maximum resolution at 1080p when docked and 720p in handheld mode. Players can enjoy solid image quality without major technical problems. This remaster already ran well on the original Switch hardware.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 struggles more despite the console upgrade. The game locks at 720p and 576p resolutions but keeps the same blurry filters. Advanced visual features like character models and cloud effects still hurt performance. The expansion pack works slightly better but maintains low resolution limits.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 delivers mixed results on Nintendo Switch 2. The game reaches 720p resolution when docked but drops to just 480p in handheld mode. This makes portable play the worst experience among all series entries. The third game was already designed better for the original Switch capabilities.

Dedicated patches could transform these games on Nintendo Switch 2. Splatoon 3 received major improvements with six times higher resolution after updates. Monolith Soft could provide similar treatment to make Xenoblade Chronicles truly shine. Fans hope the developer will release enhanced versions soon.
