Nitin Nabin preps for top BJP role as unopposed leader

Nitin Nabin takes the BJP's top job without a single vote against him. The Bharatiya Janata Party leader is welcoming its National President after an uncontested election. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior figures will attend the swearing-in ceremony. Chief Ministers and national office bearers are also expected to participate in the event.

National Returning Officer K. Laxman declared Nabin the sole candidate following nomination scrutiny. Thirty-seven sets of nomination papers were submitted supporting his candidacy. All documents were found valid, with no withdrawals recorded. No other individuals filed papers for the position.

The election process moved forward after most state presidents were chosen. This met the party constitution's requirement for a fifty percent threshold. Nabin previously served as the National Working President. He received strong backing from top leadership, including Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Outgoing party President J.P. Nadda also supported the transition. Nabin's election will be formalized by the party's national and state council members. Candidates require proposals from twenty electoral college members in a state. A minimum fifteen-year party membership is also mandatory.

His rise represents a push for younger leadership within the organization. The move aims to blend fresh energy with existing continuity. Nabin is forty-five years old.
