Folks in Nketa are setting up a soccer tournament to honor the late striker Tendai Ndoro. The draw happens on Friday at Nketa Hall for the two-day event next week. Ndoro, who played for the Warriors and Orlando Pirates, died back in August. Tournament manager Ntando Dube said the goal is to celebrate his legacy and maybe find new talent for pro teams.
A bunch of local soccer legends are supporting it, including Peter Ndlovu and Ronald Sibanda. Sixteen teams are signed up to play at four different grounds around the area, with the finals at Nketa Hall.
