The Namibian government asks people to be respectful because they are saying goodbye to Sam Nujoma, the first president of their country. The special time to remember him started on Monday, February 10th.
Mr. Modestus Amutse, who helps run the government, told everyone not to have big parties or noisy events during this sad time. He wants people to remember their first leader with respect.
People can still meet inside buildings for important things, like work and other services. But the government said nobody can play sports anywhere in Namibia during this time when they remember Sam Nujoma.
Mr. Amutse said he would tell everyone more about what they should do as time went on. This way, all Namibians can show how much they care about the person who helped create their country.
