Noble Hands gala masks Zimbabwe's dire albino skin cancer

Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust will host a fundraising dinner on October 9, 2025, to raise about $70,000 for a mobile skin cancer screening clinic. The Albinism Konnect Skin Cancer Masquerade Ball will take place at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition and Conference Smart City in Bulawayo. Events coordinator Valerie Mutsinze said skin cancer causes the highest death rates among people with albinism in Zimbabwe. The trust's Albinism Konnect Programme provides screening, treatment, protective clothing, and sunscreen to affected individuals.

The mobile clinic will travel across the nation to deliver early screening, minor treatments, dermatological care, and health education to vulnerable communities. The truck will distribute sunscreen, sun hats, and protective clothing to people with albinism in rural areas. The event will feature performances by the Albinism Konnect Music Band, and a panel discussion will address corporate environmental responsibility. The fundraiser aims to support basic needs, including sunscreen, protective clothing, large-print books, and free screenings, for the albinism community.
