Northern Bigwigs Plot New Party for 2027 Shakeup

Northern political leaders met on Thursday at a fancy Abuja hotel to plan for future elections. The League of Northern Democrats brought together 147 members under former Kano Governor Ibrahim Shekarau. They want to create a brand new political party before the 2027 voting begins. The group also backs David Mark's opposition movement against the current leadership. These politicians hope to pull unhappy members from other major parties.

The northern leaders strongly oppose certain lawmakers who switched parties but kept their seats. Delta and Kebbi state representatives broke constitutional rules when they changed sides. The group promises to organize protests unless parliament kicks out these rule breakers. They believe the National Assembly must follow the constitution they promised to protect. Civil resistance will happen if leaders ignore this demand.

The organization harshly criticized all 19 northern state governors for poor performance. Under their watch, poverty keeps getting worse across the region. Security problems continue growing without any real solutions from these elected officials. Economic conditions have declined sharply throughout northern areas. The group demands better leadership and real changes to help struggling communities.
