NPP Distances Itself from Bono Regional Chairman's Remarks on Archbishop Duncan-Williams

The New Patriotic Party leadership threw their regional chairman under the bus after he attacked a famous archbishop. Kwame Baffoe Abronye made nasty comments about Nicholas Duncan-Williams during his television show. Party headquarters rushed to damage control mode when word spread about the controversial remarks. General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong signed an official statement rejecting the chairman's words. The national office wanted everyone to know they disagreed with their regional member's behavior.

Duncan-Williams leads Action Chapel International Ministry and commands respect across Ghana. The NPP statement praised the archbishop's work helping the country develop and stay peaceful. Party leaders said religious figures like Duncan-Williams guide people morally and deserve honor from politicians. They admitted church leaders contribute more to Ghana than most political figures. The statement emphasized how much the party values faith community partnerships.

Abronye has caused headaches for party leadership before with his loose tongue. National executives previously warned him to stop making reckless public statements that embarrass the organization. The regional chairman ignored those warnings and continued his controversial media appearances. Party officials stressed that members can speak freely but must show respect for important community figures. They told the public to treat Abronye's opinions as personal views rather than official party positions.
