Nuendo 14 is here to power up your audio game

Steinberg just released Nuendo 14, their newest audio software for movies, TV shows, and video games. This version brings many fresh tools that help sound designers work faster and make better audio. The program works great for people making films, TV shows, video games, and surround sound projects. Many famous movie soundtracks come from teams using Nuendo.

The software includes something called Adaptive Background Attenuation from Fraunhofer IIS. This smart system keeps dialog clear by turning down loud background sounds automatically. It looks at your dialog track and keeps other sounds a certain level below it. You can always check what the computer did and change things if needed. The program also uses AI to create text from speech, which helps make ADR cycle markers much faster than before.

Luis Dongo from Steinberg says they want to give users the best platform for game audio and post-production. They added features people asked for, plus brand-new tools never seen in other audio programs. Game Audio Connect 3 lets you hear sound effects inside Audiokinetic Wwise right away. You can create sound variations that change based on parameters. The new Event Volume Curves make quick level changes easy.

The program finds audio segments automatically and has better range tools than before. It works with more Dolby Atmos formats and supports super high-quality 4K and 8K video. You can import CSV files without timecode and preview sound effects better in MediaBay. The software works with DAW project files and comes with new effect plugins like Shimmer, Underwater, StudioDelay, and AutoFilter.

Nuendo 14 handles 64-bit projects and includes SpectraLayers Go built-in. The mixing console has several improvements, such as a Lower Zone display and better track-moving options. The Pattern Sequencer, Drum Track, and Score Editor all work better than before. New tools help you check performance, and the Auto Saves folder keeps backup files safe. The ruler has more offset choices and audio ports work more flexibly with hardware.

Steinberg sells Nuendo 14 for $999.99. Updates from version 13 cost $199.99. From March 19 to April 3, 2025, they offer 20% off all updates. Anyone who bought Nuendo 13 after February 19, 2025, can update for free. The program supports both light and dark modes on Windows computers.
