Nuno Espirito Santo signs three-year deal with Nottingham Forest

Nuno Espirito Santo just signed a fresh three-year contract with Nottingham Forest. The Portuguese coach led Forest to seventh place last season and helped them reach Europe for the first time since 1995-1996. Forest fans are excited about keeping their manager after such a successful campaign. The team surprised everyone last season and nearly made it to the Champions League spots. Santo feels happy about staying at the City Ground and wants to keep building something special.

Santo took over from Steve Cooper back in December 2023 when Forest faced relegation trouble. Forest managed to stay up on the final day of that season despite receiving a four-point penalty for breaking financial rules. They finished seventeenth but showed real fighting spirit throughout the campaign. The team challenged for top-four positions for most of last season before falling short near the end. Santo guided them to Europa Conference League qualification and their first FA Cup semi-final since 1991.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis praised Santo for making such a strong impact at the club. The owner believes Santo knows how to bring out the best performance from his players and develops talent really well. Marinakis and Santo share the same goals for Forest's future success. They both want to compete at the highest level and bring trophies back to the club. The partnership between owner and coach looks solid for the coming years.
