NUST Ties Up With 60 Unis To Supercharge SADC Growth

Namibia University of Science and Technology joined a major partnership to help southern African schools work together better. Vice-chancellor Erold Naomab leads the Association of African Universities Southern Africa Regional Office Board. He signed the deal with Southern African Regional Universities Association during a meeting held across Zambia. The agreement brings together about 60 universities from 38 different countries around Africa. Officials want schools to share ideas and solve problems affecting the whole region.

The partnership focuses on creating new technology and supporting sustainable development throughout southern Africa. Universities must respond quickly to changes happening across economics, technology and society. Cross-border cooperation helps schools make bigger impacts through their research projects. Evidence-based policies become stronger when multiple institutions work together on important issues. Higher education plays a key role driving economic growth and sustainable development forward.

The formal agreement represents a major step toward stronger continental cooperation between African universities.
