NVIDIA and Foxconn explore using humanoid robots to build AI servers

NVIDIA and Foxconn want to use robots that look like people to build computer servers at a factory in Houston, Texas. The robots will help make NVIDIA's newest and most powerful AI servers called Blackwell. This marks the first time Foxconn plans to use human-shaped robots in their manufacturing process.

Tesla's boss Elon Musk also likes the idea of using these robots to build cars. NVIDIA's leader Jensen Huang said their latest computer chips can help power these humanoid machines. The Trump administration wants more companies to make products inside America instead of other countries.

Foxconn is spending $450 million on their Houston plant after buying the land earlier this year. President Trump's taxes on goods from Mexico have changed how companies build data center equipment. Most of this gear used to come from Mexico because it cost less to make there.

The sources think these robots could start working at the Houston factory within the next few months. Foxconn teamed up with a Chinese company called UBTECH to create humanoid robots for their factories. NVIDIA already helps the robot industry with their computer chips and cloud software systems.
