NVIDIA deal with OpenAI may never happen

A proposed 100 billion dollar partnership between NVIDIA and OpenAI, involving a large-scale 10-gigawatt compute buildout, has not yet been finalized. NVIDIA disclosed in a regulatory filing that its agreements with OpenAI and other firms like Anthropic and Intel might not proceed as initially planned or could be modified.

Despite this uncertainty, NVIDIA executives have expressed confidence in OpenAI's growth, noting its expansion to 800 million weekly users. CEO Jensen Huang explained that any infrastructure buildout would require disciplined execution and must align with coherent demand visibility and financing capabilities from partners.

The company remains optimistic about what OpenAI is building, but is cautiously monitoring whether these ambitious commitments will materialize, especially given the unpredictable scale of future computing demand in the AI sector.
