NVIDIA fumbles GB300 design as Quanta fails to meet demand

Quanta reports extraordinary demand for NVIDIA's Blackwell Ultra GB300 AI servers that exceeds current production capacity. The supplier describes market appetite as unimaginable, with GB200 and GB300 models leading customer preferences. Production bottlenecks have emerged as artificial intelligence enthusiasm drives orders beyond manufacturing capabilities. This momentum will persist across the upcoming years, according to company executives.

The supplier plans production diversification across multiple regions to address capacity constraints. Facilities in Thailand, Mexico, and the United States will expand manufacturing capabilities. Quanta's Mexican plant begins operations next year while investments target California and Tennessee locations. Server shipments will reach peak levels during the fourth quarter, with Blackwell Ultra GB300 clusters representing substantial volumes.

Previous technical challenges affected the Blackwell Ultra lineup when design revisions shifted from Bianca to Cordelia frameworks. Supply chain adaptation difficulties prompted NVIDIA to revert to earlier board designs similar to GB200 models. This adjustment enabled smoother production scaling with supplier cooperation. Strong server demand will continue through year-end with the forthcoming Vera Rubin launch providing additional market momentum.
