Nvidia Going All In On China Made AI Chips

NVIDIA wants to win over the Chinese market with a bold new plan. Reports say they'll team up with Chinese tech companies to make special chips just for China. This comes after Trump's export rules stopped NVIDIA from selling its powerful H20 AI chips to Chinese buyers. China brings billions in revenue to NVIDIA, actually more than most people think, because trade happens through other countries like Singapore.

NVIDIA's CEO Jensen rushed to China after the new rules came out. News from Ctee suggests NVIDIA plans to partner with DeepSeek for custom AI chips. They might use China's complete supply chain for everything - memory, manufacturing processes, and packaging facilities. NVIDIA needs quick alternatives for China, where making chips locally could help them gain favor with both government officials and Chinese businesses.

The company may build a research center inside China to show it's serious about this move. It can't keep making weaker "US-compliant" products for China each generation. With growing competition from companies like Huawei, NVIDIA must act fast. Though Huawei matches NVIDIA in raw performance, NVIDIA still has important technologies and software that give it an edge despite using less advanced components.
