NVIDIA RTX 5050 outpaces GTX 1080 Ti in global TrashBench gaming tests

The entry-level RTX 5050 from NVIDIA's Blackwell series has surpassed the performance of the legendary GTX 1080 Ti in modern gaming benchmarks. TrashBench conducted extensive testing that revealed the newer card outperformed the Pascal flagship across multiple titles at standard operating frequencies. Liquid cooling and overclocking efforts on the GTX 1080 Ti produced merely a 3 percent performance increase despite aggressive tuning attempts. The RTX 5050 demonstrated superior overclocking potential when pushed to 3.3 GHz frequencies using custom cooling solutions. This configuration achieved a world record score of 11,377 points in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics testing.

The newer GPU delivered an average performance boost of 17.55 percent through overclocking modifications. Three different GTX 1080 Ti variants failed to match the RTX 5050's capabilities during comparative analysis. The Pascal architecture card served users reliably for eight years before meeting its technological successor. Modern gaming demands have shifted beyond the capabilities of the former flagship graphics processor. The transition marks the end of an era for one of NVIDIA's most celebrated gaming cards.
