NVIDIA's RTX Hair for Indiana Jones is a glorified Blackwell ad

NVIDIA revealed at Gamescom 2025 that RTX Hair technology will launch this September within Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The graphics company originally planned this feature for February alongside DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation support. While DLSS 4 MFG arrived as scheduled, RTX Hair required additional development time from NVIDIA and MachineGames. The technology utilizes linear swept spheres, a hardware innovation exclusive to GeForce RTX 50 Series cards. This rendering method replaces traditional triangular geometry with spherical shapes for individual hair strands.

The new approach delivers superior lighting effects and shadow quality while consuming minimal memory resources. MachineGames will restrict linear swept spheres to Blackwell GPU owners, forcing other graphics cards to use standard hair rendering. Performance impact data remains unavailable until the September update releases. The adventure game will simultaneously receive The Order of Giants downloadable content, available separately through the Digital Premium Upgrade for thirty-five euros.
