NWSC Underwater as Govt Ignores 72.5B Debt

The people who give clean water to homes and businesses need money. Many places that work for the government have not paid their water bills. They owe Shs72.5 billion, which means the water company cannot fix pipes or help more people have clean water.

The water company needs people to pay their bills on time. Without money, they cannot improve the water flow. Some places have not paid their bills for more than two years. The money these places owe makes up one-fifth of all the money the water company should have.

Someone important checked how the water company works. They wrote a report saying the water company needs help fast. The report shows that when people do not pay, it becomes hard for others to have clean water at home.

The government's money keepers promised to pay Shs43.1 billion slowly. They have not given any money yet, which makes things very hard for the water company. They need money to keep the water clean and ensure it reaches everyone's homes.

The report asks the government to pay what it owes quickly. If the water company does not receive money soon, many people might not have enough clean water. This could make people sick and prevent businesses from working well.
