Nyantakyi warns hooliganism keeps sponsors away from Ghana football

Kwesi Nyantakyi used to run Ghana's Football Association before he stepped down. He believes companies stay away from supporting local football because fans fight during games. He stated that football should never have any violence at all. The former official believes peaceful games would attract more corporate support for teams and leagues.

Ghana Premier League teams struggle without major sponsors backing them up. The country's top football competition lost its main sponsor when betPawa pulled out last November. No other company has stepped forward to replace that funding since then. Teams face financial problems without steady money coming from big sponsors.

The lack of corporate support hurts football development across the country. Players and clubs need better resources to compete at higher levels. Nyantakyi thinks fixing the violence problem would bring back business interest. Companies might return once they see football matches become safer and more family-friendly.
