Obama drags Netanyahu as Gaza lies in smoking ruin

Former President Barack Obama condemned Israel's military operations in Gaza during remarks at a Dublin event Friday. Obama argued that continued attacks lack military justification and called the situation unacceptable. He advocated for Palestinian statehood existing alongside a secure Israeli state.

Obama criticized political leaders for perpetuating conflict and specifically targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The former president acknowledged their difficult relationship during his presidency. Obama also denounced Hamas tactics as cynical and dangerous for Palestinian civilians.

Israel recently began ground operations in Gaza City after approving occupation plans in August. The United Nations estimates one million Palestinians face potential displacement from the assault. Meanwhile, the Trump administration proposed a 21-point peace framework to Arab leaders this week.

President Trump established firm boundaries regarding Israeli territorial expansion. He declared opposition to West Bank annexation after speaking with Netanyahu Thursday.
