Obono-Obla warns APC over embracing defectors from opposition parties

A top government adviser thinks his political party made a huge mistake. Chief Okoi Obono-Obla works with the ruling party and says they should not welcome everyone who wants to join. Many politicians from other groups have switched sides recently. He believes these new members will damage the party from inside. The former presidential helper warns that accepting random people hurts the original mission.

Obono-Obla says new members never learned what the party really stands for when it started. These politicians only joined after the group won power and became popular. They cause fights and try to break apart the organization that welcomed them. Many faithful members who helped build the party feel pushed aside. Leaders choose newcomers over people who worked hard from the beginning.

The party has welcomed almost anyone since taking control back during 2015. This decision pushed away loyal supporters who gave up much to create the group. Original members combined several smaller parties to form one strong team during 2013. New politicians lack the deep beliefs and tough experience that early supporters gained through years of struggle. They jumped aboard only after seeing success and power.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna Governor El-Rufai want to start something called All Democratic Alliance. Obono-Obla points out that these leaders joined the current party between 2014 and 2019. They came aboard long after the main structure was already finished and working properly.
