Offinso boss vows clamp on child labour

Daniel Owusu wants Ghana to work harder against child labor across the country. The Offinso North leader spoke at a World Day Against Child Labour event at Nkwankwa farming community. Thousands of local children work under dangerous conditions on farms and homes. Owusu said poverty causes the problem but Ghana has laws to fix it. Officials need better action and teamwork to protect young people from harm.

Education Director Martin Addo Fordwour asked teachers and parents to fight child labor together. He plans to start campaigns that teach people about the damage caused to children. Social Welfare Director Gideon Osei-Poku said many kids between ages 5 and 17 still do unsafe jobs. The official warned young people to avoid drugs and risky choices. Community groups will help police and social workers watch for child labor cases.
