Ogun Assembly Calls for Drainage Solutions to Address Water Issues in Ifo

Ogun State lawmakers want Lagos officials to fix flooding problems that hurt local residents. The Assembly committee met Thursday with government representatives and contractors about water damage in Ifo communities. Residents complained that a Lagos water pipeline project created environmental problems in their neighborhoods.

Committee leader Oluseun Adesanya told Lagos officials they must solve the drainage issues. The pipeline work affected several areas like Akute, Baale, Alausa and Oke-Aro. Standing water has made life difficult for people living near the construction sites.

Adesanya met with former Ogun official Cecilia Olajide and Lagos representatives. Contractor delegate Daniele Cifola also attended the meeting about the water problems. The committee wants proper drainage systems built to help residents deal with flooding.

Lawmakers plan to bring more government agencies into future discussions. They want officials from environment, public works and water departments to join the talks. The goal is finding permanent solutions for communities hurt by the pipeline construction project.
