Omnipath Medical Laboratories has been reinstated as a member of the Association of Healthcare Funders of Zimbabwe, reversing an earlier indefinite suspension. The suspension had been related to allegations that the laboratory operated an unauthorized sample collection site at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
According to Omnipath's legal representative, Talent Zungura, the suspension was procedurally flawed as it was enacted without formal charges or an opportunity for the laboratory to respond. Following a letter from Omnipath contesting the action, AHFoZ rescinded its decision.
The association confirmed the reinstatement in a recent communication, stating the move was necessary to ensure procedural fairness and compliance with governance standards. The suspension has been lifted with immediate effect.
