Orastron drops major updates to Brickworks DSP

Orastron has launched version 1.4.0 of Brickworks, its free and open-source music DSP toolkit, alongside updates to Brickworks Pro, a collection of advanced DSP modules. The free version introduces a sampler algorithm with an accompanying example plugin, new math functions, and coefficient validation for filters. The company simplified the C++ APIs to support external memory allocation and updated example plugins with an improved build system.

Brickworks Pro received substantial algorithm enhancements. New digital models replicate the Moog ladder filter and Minimoog Model D VCA. The arpeggiator, periodic trigger and envelope generator algorithms underwent major revisions, with the envelope generator adding attack and decay hold phases. Pulse and triangle oscillator waveshapers gained advanced modulation capabilities. Minor updates improved the note hold algorithm with latch mode, the pressed note tracker with queue functions and the phase generator with swing support and external syncing. The voice allocator added a one-note unison mode.
