Otumfuo Foundation mentors girls, backs water to Wi-Fi needs

The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation has worked for twenty-five years on sustainable development across Ghana. Administrator Elaine Oppong-Peprah detailed its work at a recent business awards ceremony. She stated the foundation acts on the Asante king's vision, focusing on long-term community solutions, especially in rural areas.

Education is a primary focus through scholarships and building schools. The group has also constructed health facilities like a maternity ward at Manhyia Government Hospital. They build water and sanitation systems to fight disease. Another key area is preserving Asante culture and heritage through specific programs.

The foundation partners with various groups, including government and corporate bodies. A new partnership with Cenba Graduate Institute will sponsor a mentorship masterclass for high school girls. Oppong-Peprah called for more partners to join their efforts in women's entrepreneurship and economic empowerment programs that foster local growth.
