Ouaddou centers Mofokeng magic, Pirates eye Free State win

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou explained his choice to deploy Relebohile Mofokeng through the center rather than his usual wing position. The 20-year-old attacker earned PSL Young Player of the Season honors for two consecutive campaigns but has experienced difficulties this term. Mofokeng demonstrated his capabilities during the MTN8 final against Stellenbosch FC through precise passing and creative vision. His performance reminded supporters of his talent after a challenging period. The tactical adjustment allowed the young star to showcase his linking abilities between teammates.

Ouaddou described how central positioning provides Mofokeng with greater operational freedom compared to wing play. The coach noted that wide positions limit players to 180 degrees of movement, while central areas offer 380 degrees of possibility. Mofokeng appeared comfortable and energetic in his new role during the cup final. His pre-reception awareness and decision-making impressed the coaching staff. Pirates prepare for their CAF Champions League preliminary match against the Lesotho side Lioli at Toyota Stadium.
