Padma Bridge rolls out non-stop ETC as Fouzul Kabir Khan backs digital shift

Padma Bridge authorities launch electronic toll collection technology that eliminates vehicle stops during toll payments. The pilot program begins at 2pm today under direction from Road Transport and Bridges Ministry Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan. Motorists must register vehicles and add funds through Trust Bank Limited's TAP app using the 'd-Toll' feature. First-time users complete RFID tag verification at the designated Padma Bridge booth. Vehicles then travel through special lanes at speeds above 30 kilometers per hour while tolls automatically deduct from user accounts.

The Bridge Authority plans future integration with additional financial applications. The ICT Division's a2i programme facilitates connections between TAP and other mobile platforms. This system represents a significant advancement in Bangladesh's transportation infrastructure technology.
